Why The Right Ingredients Totally Matter
I
once had a conversation with someone and they said, no one really cares much about ingredients as long as a product works. I disagree with that statement and I will explain why. But first, let's pretend that brand names were irrelevant for a moment and that you were shopping based on particular needs, particular things you were looking for in a product.
As founder of helico (USA), the ingredients in our personal care and cosmetics are designed to be concentrated. There is so much thought that goes into product development and design. Most people do not realize the details involved.
For liability reasons we chose not to package everything in glass because that did not make sense to us, for those washing their hair in a shower. But some products do have refill formats to allow you the choice to reuse those bottles.
It is important to have packaging that is appropriate for the formulations. I love that the formulas, like our Clean Beauty Hair Collection, for instance, as a random example, has a key aspect of allowing a little to go a long way and it is comparable to bottles far bigger than its size, with how we've structured our water phases.
I was asked if these hair products are comparable to 5$ products and no, they are not comparable. These products are in a class of their own as most of those inexpensive products don't really pay much attention to ingredients and are made with mainly purified water. If that is what you want in your hair, that is your choice as a consumer. Yet, I like products, as a consumer, that don't suck. Therefore, I truly dedicate this line of products to all those who have asked me beauty tips, on how I remain so youthful looking, (considering it has been over 2 years since I've had any cosmetic injectables or visited a med spa). I have always used products on my skin and in my hair that are luxurious and that work. The productions are small batched, on certain products to allow them this couture/freshness and ultra exotic, limited edition feel of a masterpiece. After spending so long masked, I love that the ingredients selected having lived this shift where so many wonder without any cosmetic fillers or facial procedures - how youthful my hair and skin look - obviously these mediocre formulas are not for everyone. There is an expression in California: you get what you pay for and for the longest time, I never really agreed with it. I thought it so
and part of this movement that so many brands are taking part in, regardless if like us, you've been plant-based for more than just today. Be sure to check out the blog on Clean Beauty to understand what is so special about it.
These are not comparable to 5$ products made with which ever ingredients.
We adhere first and foremost to the lists of prohibited ingredients for the State of California. Certain chemicals were banned in California. Then, I just personally became grossed out by all the greed in the industry when I would view some creams that were definitely not made with the highest quality of ingredients but yet they are found in department stores and sold for more than most 9 to 5 minimum wage workers make in a week. Then, we go online and have this ocean of products that are not made in the US so they may or may not contain what is even on their label.
It leaves consumers wondering, what is going on...
So, I like to know that the ingredients that I choose to put in the final version of a product and work with are high quality. I use all of these products, as does my family and being that my mom is a cancer survivor, she really loves using high-end products. During this pandemic, my skin wanted to go back to basics. It is why I have fallen in love with some very exotic and luxurious naturals, aromas from Mother Nature or ways where an ingredient can take on a new form and be used in different ways.

Yes to fresh, yes
to wholesome;
What are some of your favorite ingredients so far?
